November Update - Site Visit, Radio and Fundingsalf
Well, it has been a really busy month, so far, but it has been worth it for the progress we have been making.
Hello again and thanks for your amazing continued support.
Rather than random updates, we have taken the decision to post a monthly roundup unless something really significant happens, so here’s November…
Since our last update, the consultants attended a Site Visit to assess the condition of the building and take measurements for the drawing up of plans. Plenty of exciting discoveries were made (including the extremely unique and rare stage mechanism) but the condition is not the best at all but is believed to be salvageable. A workshop with some of the stakeholders group was held after to analyse the needs, desire and plans of the community, partners and local area.
Promotion-wise, we managed to get an announcement on the early bulletin on BBC Radio Manchester 95.1 FM. You can hear it at (1hr 1 min 42secs) https://t.co/JuYUONPKbt?amp=1
We also had a productive meeting with the Council planning department and Sam and Allen were interviewed on Salford City Radio by Carl Royle and this can be reheard at: https://t.co/hJVNAasWSL?amp=1 (16mins 45secs)
Finally, for now - as well as our event updates in the next update - we have been awarded funding from the East Salford Community Committee to top up our viability study fund.
Along with our direct donations on PayPal through our Friends page, we have set up a campaign on JustGiving and you can donate/share this at: justgiving.com/crowdfunding/salfordvictoriatheatre
Please continue to share these updates on your social media channels and we are also looking at making Salford Victoria specific merchandise available, to further keep the spirit of the theatre alive. If you haven't signed up as a Friend, please feel free to do so.
